We Put Bell Pepper In It. Just Trust Us.

There are days that just need to be rinsed off. Not fixed. Not analyzed. Just cleared out and started again. Maybe it was a hard morning. Maybe it was a week that ran long. Maybe you just woke up feeling like you were already behind and nothing you did caught you up. You know the feeling. We know the feeling too. This is the juice we made for that.

We called it Refresh at the bar. Brighten Up. It was the one people ordered when they walked in looking tired and walked out looking like themselves again. Bright yellow, cold, a little tropical, a little sharp. It tastes like a deep breath. It takes five minutes. And it has bell pepper in it — and before you close this tab, just hear us out.

THE GOODERY REFRESH JUICE
Nourish Series No. 01 · Brighten Up · Yellow Juice
Makes one 16oz serving

½ — Pineapple
¾ — Cucumber, fully peeled
¼ — Apple
½ — Lime, fully peeled
1 small wedge — Yellow bell pepper
3 leaves — Fresh mint

Remove all peel from the lime using a knife — the peel will make this juice green Use a vegetable peeler on the cucumber to remove the skin fully for the same reason. This one is just more beautiful when it’s yellow. Juice the apple, bell pepper, lime, pineapple, cucumber, and mint. Strain well. Whisk. Pour over ice.

Why it works:

Pineapple is the base and it's doing more than making this taste good. It contains bromelain — an enzyme that helps your body break down and absorb what you eat more effectively. It also reduces inflammation quietly in the background, which is part of why you feel lighter after drinking it rather than heavy. It's natural sweetness without a crash.

Cucumber is mostly water and that's the point. When you feel foggy, dull, or off — you're often just dehydrated in a way that coffee doesn't fix. Fully peeled cucumber juices clean and clear and adds a coolness that makes this taste like something you'd pay $14 for at a cold press counter.

Now. The bell pepper. One small wedge of yellow bell pepper contains more Vitamin C than an orange. More. Without any citrus sharpness. It keeps the colour bright yellow, adds a subtle sweetness that rounds out the lime, and disappears completely into the flavour. You cannot taste it. You will not know it's there. But your body will. Most people who drank this at the bar for years had no idea it was in it. Now you do. You're welcome.

Lime cuts through everything. It brightens the flavour, wakes up your palate, and adds the kind of sharpness that makes this feel like it's actually doing something — because it is. Vitamin C from lime also helps your body absorb the nutrients from everything else in the glass.

Apple is the quiet sweetener. Just enough to take the edge off the lime without making this taste like a juice box.

Mint is the finish. Three leaves is all you need. It clears the back of your throat and leaves you feeling clean in a way that's hard to describe. Just try it.

Together they make something that tastes like the afternoon you actually wanted to be having.

A few things worth knowing before you make it:

Peel the lime completely — every bit of white pith adds bitterness and this juice should have none. Use a knife, not a juicer, to remove it. Use a vegetable peeler on the cucumber — the skin makes the juice murky and slightly bitter when juiced. You want this one clean and clear. Strain it well and whisk before pouring — the apple and bell pepper can leave a fine pulp that settles fast. Don't skip the ice. This juice is made to be cold — it's a different drink at room temperature and not in a good way. Drink it the same day. This one doesn't hold as well overnight as the others. Make it fresh when you need it.

Some days just need a reset. This is yours.

Not a detox. Not a protocol. Not three days of suffering to earn feeling better. Just a cold glass of real things that your body knows exactly what to do with. Five minutes. One glass. The good glass. That's it. That's the whole thing. You don't have to earn feeling good. You just have to make the juice.

This is where we'd tell you to start.
